Results of the project “SME boost: economic integration of internally displaced people and business recovery” – support for hundreds of enterprises
Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, took part in the official summing up of the results of the project “SME boost: economic integration of internally displaced people and business recovery”, which took place in Kyiv.
The project is funded by the Government of Germany and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The project was launched in late 2021. Since then, it has helped to restore relocated and war-affected businesses. It has also strengthened their capacity to operate and provide essential goods and services to IDPs.
“Over the course of the project, we have provided 511 grants of up to EUR 4,500, 181 grants to small businesses of up to EUR 20,000, 60 grants to start-ups of up to EUR 7,000 and hundreds of consultations, which are very important to start or continue a business. This is a good result,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
In addition, more than 5,000 jobs have been saved and more than 2,200 new ones created during this time.
Iryna Vereshchuk expressed her gratitude to IOM Ukraine’s Chief of Mission, Alessia Schiavon, the German Government, the German credit institution KfW, as well as the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“Thanks to our cooperation, we have supported hundreds of Ukrainian businesses and helped thousands of internally displaced persons integrate economically,” the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
