The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision that will stimulate the development of the livestock industry and help attract investment. The relevant resolution No. 473 was adopted at a regular meeting of the Government.
In particular, it provides for an increase in the preferential credit limit for livestock producers.
“The Government’s resolution increases the credit limit under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme for livestock farmers from UAH 90 million to UAH 150 million. This means that livestock farmers will be able to almost double their loan portfolio. This will stimulate the development of the industry and help restore livestock production,” said Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Financial support is provided to enterprises that do not produce in the area of active hostilities or in the temporarily occupied territories.
The livestock sector has been seriously affected by russia’s full-scale invasion. In particular, the number of farm animals, especially cattle, sheep and goats, has decreased, and the production of certain types of meat and dairy products has declined.
