Ukraine and Poland sign Memorandum of cooperation to improve pipeline interconnection
Today, on March 16, 2023, the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine and the Polish operator Gaz-System S.A., during the Conference “E23: PL for UA. Polish-Ukrainian partnership in building the energy security of the future” in Warsaw, signed a Memorandum of cooperation on improving the pipeline interconnection between Poland and Ukraine.
According to Yuliia Pidkomorna, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, implementation of this document will help accelerate the creation of an integrated gas hub in Eastern Europe.
“By continuing cooperation and developing the capabilities of the Baltic Pipe, interconnectors with Lithuania and Slovakia, we can create a powerful gas corridor,” said Yuliia Pidkomorna.
The Memorandum also envisages the creation of a research platform for the transportation of renewable gases (biomethane and hydrogen) and the implementation of relevant pilot projects.
“Through joint work and joint efforts, we can ensure independence from the energy resources of the aggressor country,” the Deputy Minister summarized.
