The Government is working on deregulating entrepreneurial activities, simplifying business operations, and removing unnecessary regulatory barriers.

On 15 May, a meeting on deregulation and the Government’s steps to eliminate administrative obstacles hindering efficient business operations was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta, and business representatives, with whom further measures and legislative initiatives for ongoing deregulation were coordinated.

“Deregulation and digitalisation of services for businesses are among the Government’s key reforms, and we have already taken several steps in this direction, which businesses have highly appreciated for their effectiveness,” emphasised Denys Shmyhal.

He noted that since 2023, the interagency deregulation working group had reviewed over 1,000 state regulatory instruments, recommending 456 for repeal. To date, 352 have been repealed, with the remainder under consideration. Additionally, the “Pulse” communication platform has been launched to enhance interaction between the state and businesses.

“The Government is currently reviewing a draft law from the Ministry of Economy to abolish another 60 permitting documents,” the Prime Minister reported.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that, following discussions on problematic issues with businesses and analysis of ministries’ proposals, relevant agencies had been tasked with developing necessary solutions.

“We must collectively develop a robust framework for deregulation,” the Prime Minister underscored.
