Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a discussion with EU Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis. The parties focused on continuing productive cooperation.
Valdis Dombrovskis confirmed the provision of EUR 18.1 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine next year under the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration initiative. Ukraine expects to receive the first tranche in January.
The Head of Government also thanked the European Union for the funding provided under the Ukraine Facility, which has amounted to EUR 16 billion this year.
“The provision of these funds has become important for stabilising the economy, supporting reforms and addressing urgent needs,” the Prime Minister said.
Denys Shmyhal and Valdis Dombrovskis also discussed Ukraine’s reconstruction, particularly focusing on developing a recovery mechanism similar to the Marshall Plan.
“We propose to combine the frozen russian assets and EU funds in a long-term recovery plan. This will allow us to involve European companies in the reconstruction on a mutually beneficial basis,” said Denys Shmyhal, thanking the European Commissioner for his contribution to the development of EU-Ukraine relations.
In turn, Valdis Dombrovskis assured of further humanitarian, military and economic support for Ukraine.
