  • Pavlo Riabikin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine

    On February 10, the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Pavlo Riabikin met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine Dr. Noel I. Khokhar.

    The parties discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation. Pavlo Riabikin informed about the reform of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine and the related prospects, as well as the priorities of international military-technical cooperation.

    The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine stressed that Kyiv considered the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as an important partner in South Asia. According to Pavlo Riabikin, Ukraine and Pakistan have prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation.

    One of the key topics of the talks was the organization and holding of a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission on Economic Development, the Ukrainian part of which is headed by Pavlo Riabikin. The participants of the meeting outlined directions for future discussions in the context of strengthening military-technical cooperation between the countries.

    The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine noted that the effective work of the Ukrainian-Pakistani Commission on Economic Development would contribute to the expansion of bilateral trade and economic relations.

    In turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine Dr. Noel I. Khokhar voiced the interest of the Government of Pakistan in military-technical cooperation with Ukraine, assured of personal assistance in developing relations between the two countries.
