Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė in Kyiv.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government noted that Ukraine appreciated Lithuania's active assistance in strengthening our defense capabilities, rehabilitating wounded Ukrainian servicemen, and rebuilding the affected regions of Ukraine.
"I am especially grateful for Lithuania's readiness to supply Ukraine with Stinger portable air defense missile systems, portable thermal imagers and other equipment. Such timely and effective assistance is a manifestation of true solidarity with our state," the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.
Denys Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine was also always ready to lend a helping hand to the Republic of Lithuania, as when last summer Ukraine had provided humanitarian assistance to equip the country's border with Belarus.
According to the Head of the Ukrainian Government, Ukraine counts on Lithuania's support in energy security issues, in particular, in the issue of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This project is a hybrid weapon not only against Ukraine but also against other European countries, the Ukrainian PM accentuated.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also commended Lithuania’s full support for the European choice of our country in the international arena and constant assistance in carrying out large-scale reforms.
"I expect to continue our cooperation in the format of the Lublin Triangle in the near future," said Denys Shmyhal.
For her part, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė noted that Ukraine can count on the firm and unwavering support of Lithuania. According to her, the Republic of Lithuania will further assist in the implementation of reforms that bring Ukraine closer to the standards of the European Union.
