On November 19, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine, Mr Jedai Al-Hathal.
During the meeting, the sides discussed preparations for the VI meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Saudi Arabian Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and expressed their conviction that the Commission's meeting would become another successful event aimed at deepening the existing and identifying new forms of interaction between the states.
During the meeting, the issue of investigating the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul was also raised. "We are, definitely, concerned about the situation with the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi. We are waiting for the completion of the investigation and we believe that all those involved in this crime will undergo punished", said Mr. Rosenko.
The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked for the consistent support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine by Saudi Arabia. He also expressed the hope that Saudi Arabia will continue to express its principled position, including regarding the protection of the rights of Crimean Tatars in the territory of the occupied Crimea.
