  • Pavlo Petrenko opened All-Ukrainian Law&Consciousness Forum

    Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko took part in the I All-Ukrainian Forum Law&Consciousness, which takes place in the legal club "PRAVOKATOR" in Kyiv, and simultaneously in the largest cities of the country - Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Lviv.

    He noted that the development of the system of free legal aid is one of the most successful projects of the Government and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

    "Equality and freedom of every person is the greatest value in any society. Ukraine, as a nation that has gained its independence through extremely difficult historical and dramatic events, has defended this independence for centuries, is now actually in the historical phase when we are again learning to appreciate the right. Over the past 5 years, Ukraine has made a huge leap in the development of legal consciousness. Ukrainians have finally believed that their rights can and must be protected", said Pavlo Petrenko.

    He emphasized that the task of the Ministry of Justice is to continue the rally to raising the level of legal awareness of Ukrainian citizens.

    "The Ministry of Justice will make every effort to ensure that respect for the protection of rights within the society would be only growing", the Minister of Justice emphasized.

    During the Forum, representatives of civil society, human rights community, international organizations shared their thoughts on how to shape the legal consciousness of society.

    The I All-Ukrainian Forum Law & Consciousness was organized by the Coordination Center for the provision of legal assistance with the support of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the International Renaissance Foundation, the Ukrainian-Canadian project The Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine (QALA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
