The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will pay a visit to Denmark on May 17-18, where he will take part in the 128th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe at the ministerial level.
The key topic of this year's discussion of the Foreign Minister’s the 47 member-countries of the Council of Europe will be the problem of responding to the current challenges to democratic security in Europe, and in particular the role of the Organization in resolving current conflicts and crises on the continent.
The participants will also touch upon the issues of ensuring the effectiveness of the European Convention on Human Rights in the long-term, the protection of individuals in the context of automated processing of personal data, cooperation between the Council of Europe and the European Union, as well as the state of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in modern Europe.
Pavlo Klimkin will raise the issue of ongoing Russian aggression against our state and the release of Ukrainian citizens being held illegally.
The Foreign Minister will also have a number of bilateral meetings during the visit.
