The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, following the submission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, dismissed Aliona Babak from the post of Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Denys Shmygal.

Oleksiy Honcharuk thanked Aliona Babak for her work as the Minister and stressed that the reform had been launched by the Government would be successfully prolonged by Denys Shmygal.

“Denys is well aware of how the region works and he is a great manager. This year, we will shift the focus of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development's towards decentralization and establishing as many sustainable communities as possible. I assure you that Mr. Shmygal will reinforce our team,” said Oleksiy Honcharuk.

The PM added that work on the architectural sector having started by Ms. Babak would be continued.

Aliona Babak submitted her letter of resignation on her will.
