Situation update of General Staff of UAF regarding russian invasion as of 6 p.m., July 29, 2023

Day 521 of the full-scale russian military aggression continues.

Despite significant losses the russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. The enemy continues to kill the civilians of Ukraine, continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, while using terror tactics.

During the day July 29, the enemy launched 5 missile strikes, 19 airstrikes and launched 30 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian cities and Ukrainian Armed Forces. Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilians, and some houses were destroyed.

The threat of missile and air strikes remains high across Ukraine.

24 combat clashes took place throughout the day.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes detected. There are no signs of the offensive groupings formation.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the enemy shelled with mortar and artillery fire more than 15x settlements. Among them Mykolaivka, Chernihiv Oblast; Stara Huta, Hrabovske, Volfine, Sumy Oblast; Udy, Okhrimivka, Ohirtseve and Tykh of Kharkiv Oblast.

Kupyansk axis:  Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrasivka and Kupyanske of the Kharkiv Oblast got under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Lyman axis: the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Novoyehorivka and Bilogorivka of the Luhansk Oblast. Nevske, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk Oblast and Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk Oblast were shelled by artillery.

Bakhmut axis: more than 10 settlements were shelled by enemy artillery, among them Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanovske, and Bila Hora.

Avdiyivka axis: despite heavy fire from the enemy aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by russian troops in the vicinities of Avdiyivka. More than 10 settlements, including Avdiyivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, and Novokalynove of the Donetsk Oblast, were shelled by artillery.

Maryinka axis: Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the vicinities of Maryinka. The enemy shelled more than 10x settlements, among them Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Georgiyivka of the Donetsk Oblast.

Shakhtarsk axis:  the enemy forces carried out airstrikes at Makarivka and Staromayorske and shelled Odradne, Blagodatne, Makarivka, Rivnopil and Staromayorske in the Donetsk Oblast.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes: the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. The enemy carried out airstrikes at Orikhov in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Antonivka in the Kherson Oblast. More than 25 settlements, including Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka, Biloghirya, Kamianske of the Zaporizhia Oblast, were shelled by artillery; Zolota Balka, Tokarivka, Antonivka, Mykhailivka, Kherson Oblast.

Defense Forces of Ukraine continue offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdyansk axes, and are equipping captured positions.

Ukrainian Air Force conducted 5 strikes on enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment concentrations. 

Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 1 operational-tactical reconnaissance UAV.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit 1 artillery unit at a firing position, 1 radio-electronic warfare station, as well as one enemy manpower concentration.
