The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day of January 18, there were 114 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 1x missile and 48 air strikes, carried out 38 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The russian invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mykolaivka and Vovchansk (Kharkiv oblast). Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Klyusy (Chernihiv oblast), Radyanske (Sumy oblast), Stohnii, Udy, Starytsya, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Nesterne (Kharkiv oblast).

Kupyansk axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 assaults in the vicinities of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Tabaivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast), where the occupies made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Holubivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Masyutivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 assaults near Terny, Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast), and 7 attacks in the areas of Serebryanske forestry, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). In that area, the enemy made failed attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders launched air strikes in the areas of Serebryanske forestry and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Karmazynivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Dibrova, Serebryanka, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 attacks in the vicinity of Bohdanivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriyivka, New York (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiyivka axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 enemy attacks near Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiyivka, and 14 more attacks in the vicinities of Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers, with air support, made unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Stepove, Orlivka, Avdiyivka, Sjeverne (Donetsk oblast).

Maryinka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary, with air support, made 13 attempts to improve its tactical situation. The invaders launched an air strike near the settlement of Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Maksymilyanivka, Heorhiyivka, Novomykhailivka were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Shakhtarske axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks west of Staromaiorske and south of Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast). The invaders launched an air strike in the vicinity of Vodyane (Donetsk oblast). The adversary fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Vremivka, Staromaiorske, Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast).

Zaporizhzhia axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 assaults west of Verbove and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Hulyaipole, Charivne, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the adversary fired artillery at the city of Kherson, the vicinities of the settlements of Zmiyivka, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Sadove, Antonivka Chornobaivka (Kherson oblast).

The occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 11 unsuccessful assaults. 

During the day of January 18, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 5 concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers. 

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 1x command post of the russian invaders.
