Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 15, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,199 (236 children out of this number, 315 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 279,030.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,152 persons, 166 patients died, 10,328 persons recovered. There have been conducted 49,596 testings (30,225 using the PCR method and 19371, using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,146,963 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 847,391 people recovered;
  • 20,542 people died;
  • 5,905,076 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
