Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 17, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 1,447 (104 children out of this number, 38 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 7,702,997 vaccines have been made.

The number of vaccinated persons from COVID-19 from the beginning of the campaign makes up 4,851,541. On August 17, 2021, 118,594 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 51,132 - CoronaVac vaccine, 58,992 – Comirnaty vaccine, 8,126 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 0, Moderna – 344.

Vaccination was carried out by 839 mobile immunization teams, 2,797 vaccination points and 317 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 677 persons, 40 patients died, 712 persons recovered. There have been conducted 60,654 testings (27,053 using the PCR method, 9,171 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 24,430).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,268,666 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,198,220 people recovered;
  • 53,336 people died;
  • 11,726,235 testings have been conducted.
