Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 8, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 300 (20 children out of this number, 2 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection).

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 6,538,718 vaccines have been made.

On August 8, 2021, 51,445 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 11,658 - CoronaVac vaccine, 19,571 – Comirnaty vaccine, 769 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 2,000, Moderna – 17,447.

Vaccination was carried out by 277 mobile immunization teams, 816 vaccination points and 340 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 400 persons, 5 patients died, 281 persons recovered. There have been conducted 16,720 testings (9,383 using the PCR method, 1,424 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 5,913).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,259,451 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,191,202 people recovered;
  • 53,100 people died;
  • 11,537,474 testings have been conducted.
