During a working trip to Cherkasy region on August 6, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the repair of the intersection of public roads of state importance H-16 Zolotonosha - Cherkasy - Smila - Uman km 39 + 781 and P-10/R-09/ - Cherkasy - Chyhyryn - Kremenchuk km 78 + 144 and the highway of local significance О 241719/Н16/ - Cherkasy.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov and Head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration Oleksandr Skichko.
Denys Shmyhal noted that the road infrastructure of Cherkasy region is improving every year.
"For two years, the" Great Construction "in Cherkasy region has covered more roads than in the previous decade. In 2020, 254 km of roads were repaired and built. In 2021, a record 259 km of public roads will be repaired in Cherkasy region. Plus more than 50 km of public roads of local importance, streets and roads of communal property. In fact, new transport arteries are emerging in the region, as well as high-quality communication between neighboring regions," the Prime Minister said.
Oleksandr Skichko, the Head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration, noted that until recently, due to the terrible condition of the roads, everyone was looking for ways to bypass Cherkasy region, despite the fact that it is located at the intersection of international transport corridors.
"Over the past two years, the situation has changed dramatically. We are not going to scale back. We have a reliable support from the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister and the Government," Oleksandr Skichko stressed.
According to the Prime Minister, the works on the site will be completed by August 23, 2021. The total length will amount to 10.06 km.
