Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 18,912 (1,447 children out of this number, 435 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,865,911 vaccines have been made.

The number of vaccinated persons from COVID-19 from the beginning of the campaign makes up 8,207,903. On October 18, 2021, 226,587people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 71,111 - CoronaVac vaccine, 112,786 – Comirnaty vaccine, 42,690 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 0, Moderna – 0.

Vaccination was carried out by 1,012 mobile immunization teams, 3,085 vaccination points and 354 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 5,468 persons, 495 patients died, 7,605 persons recovered. There have been conducted 137,355 testings (67,258 using the PCR method,
14,142 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 55,955).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,679,185 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,344,799 people recovered;
  • 61, 843 people died;
  • 13,709,705 testings have been conducted.
