Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of March 5, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 10,155 (577 children out of this number, 345 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 167, 132.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 12,481 people have been vaccinated, of whom 12,481 have received 1 dose, and 0 have completed vaccination (received 2 doses).

On March 4, 2021, 2,913 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, of which 2,913 persons were vaccinated with 1 dose, vaccination was completed (2 doses) - 0 people.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3355 persons, 172 patients died, 4149 persons recovered. There have been conducted 83 756 testings (40393 using the PCR method, 16127 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 27 236).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1384917 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1191022 people recovered;
  • 26763 people died;
  • 7062386 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
