Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 16, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,072 (407 children out of this number, 72 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 29,372,377 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,993,077 people have been vaccinated. On January 16, 2022, 23,286 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 3,463 – CoronaVac vaccine, 16,882 – Comirnaty vaccine, 412 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 2,529.

Vaccination was carried out by 343 mobile immunization teams, 1,932 vaccination points and 414 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,213 persons, 78 patients died, 2,520 persons recovered. There have been conducted 35,464 testings (14,616 using the PCR method, 2,240 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 18,608).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,759,530 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,556,162 people recovered;
  • 98,361 people died;
  • 17,182,817 testings have been conducted.
