  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 34,984 COVID-19 cases, 16,033 people recovered, 985 patients died. During the 24 hours, 921 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 542,247 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 115,494 samples using ELISA method.

    In total 2,570 cases among children and 5,877 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 25,217 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 9,767 people were hospitalized. There are 343 people having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As of June 19, coronavirus infection was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 1,596 cases (990 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 1,673 cases (548 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,021 cases (758 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 350 cases (142 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region – 1,201 cases (609 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 1,960 cases (833 recovered);
    • Zaporizhia region – 547 cases (385 recovered);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,940 cases (1,064 recovered);
    • Kirovohrad region - 604 cases (502 recovered);
    • Kyiv – 4,176 cases (1,332 recovered);
    • Kyiv region – 2,142 cases (994 recovered);
    • Lviv region – 3,540 cases (663 recovered);
    • Luhansk region - 71 cases (52 recovered);
    • Mykolaiv region - 338 cases (264 recovered);
    • Odesa region – 1,200 cases (510 recovered);
    • Poltava region - 289 cases (262 recovered);
    • Rivne region – 2,693 cases (1,467 recovered);
    • Sumy region - 246 cases (178 recovered);
    • Ternopil region – 1,605 cases (1,050 recovered);
    • Kharkiv region – 1,744 cases (812 recovered);
    • Kherson region – 185 cases (174 recovered);
    • Khmelnytsky region - 608 cases (474 recovered);
    • Chernivtsi region – 4,211 cases (1,470 recovered);
    • Cherkasy region - 585 cases (388 recovered);
    • Chernihiv region - 459 cases (112 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
