The Government has planned to provide UAH 22 billion for the repair and reconstruction of local roads, as well as has embarked on the preparation of a separate program for the repair and construction of bridges.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced answering the questions of the MPs of Ukraine within the framework of the Question Time for the Government.
In particular, commenting on the consequences of the weather deterioration in recent days in four western regions of Ukraine, the Prime Minister noted that it is first necessary to determine the damage to people, households, roads and bridges to urgently eliminate the effects of the foul weather.
"There are appropriate reserve funds, local and national, the relevant decisions, depending on the level of emergency situations, funds are transferred in order to urgently eliminate the effects of the disaster," said Denys Shmyhal.
Commenting on the information about 15 damaged bridges as a result of extreme weather conditions and flooding in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Prime Minister noted that the Ministry of Infrastructure is working on a separate program for repairing and building bridges, including on local roads.
“Now the main thing is to ensure the relevant design estimation documentation be prepared for bridges of local significance. This is a relatively small amount compared to the total cost of road repairs and construction. It is also essential to prepare and submit appropriate expert opinions, and we will find a source of funding. It is critical for us to develop the infrastructure," said Denys Shmyhal.
