Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 17, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 9,524 (790 children out of this number, 122 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,446,255 vaccines have been made.

The number of vaccinated persons from COVID-19 from the beginning of the campaign makes up 7,956,095. On October 17, 2021, 55,897 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 14,611 - CoronaVac vaccine, 32,603 – Comirnaty vaccine, 8,683 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 0, Moderna – 0.

Vaccination was carried out by 327 mobile immunization teams, 1,523 vaccination points and 362 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3,127 persons, 177 patients died, 3,421 persons recovered. There have been conducted 49,449 testings (23,992 using the PCR method,
2,946 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 22,511).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,644,694 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,329,418 people recovered;
  • 60, 810 people died;
  • 13,581,768 testings have been conducted.
