Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 8, 2021, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 12,376 (1,078 children out of this number, 194 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 26,126,460 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 13,974,700 people have been vaccinated. On December 8, 2021, 178,796 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 67,314 – CoronaVac vaccine, 97,552 – Comirnaty vaccine, 678 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 13,252.

Vaccination was carried out by 916 mobile immunization teams, 3,264 vaccination points and 471 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,449 persons, 465 patients died, 24,547 persons recovered. There have been conducted 79,642 testings (39,023 using the PCR method, 9,561 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 31,058).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,532,357 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,133,970 people recovered;
  • 89,901 people died;
  • 16,199,355 testings have been conducted.
