Today, December 8, during the second meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Office for Standardization and Metrology of the Republic of Croatia. From the Ukrainian side, the Memorandum was inked by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Iryna Novikova.
"The conclusion of the Memorandum will create conditions for further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of metrology in the framework of implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement on technical barriers to trade and preparation for an industrial visa-free regime deal, which is currently a priority for the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Ukraine in relations with the EU", said Deputy Minister Iryna Novikova during the meeting.
The exchange of information and best practices of Croatia under the Memorandum will also contribute to the further development of Ukraine's metrology system in accordance with European norms and rules, which is currently extremely relevant in the framework of the previous EU assessment mission on Ukraine's quality infrastructure readiness to the conclusion of the ACAA (Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products).
"Joint participation in projects of various metrological programs and interlaboratory comparisons will promote the introduction of European experience in the metrological system of Ukraine, obtaining by consumers of innovative, high-quality and safe products, as well as create conditions for manufacturing of competitive Ukrainian products and increasing exports to markets in both countries," Iryna Novikova emphasized.
