Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 21, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 23,785 (1,800 children out of this number, 391 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15,386,831 vaccines have been made.

The number of vaccinated persons from COVID-19 from the beginning of the campaign makes up 8,557,659. On October 21, 2021, 269,666 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 87,583 - CoronaVac vaccine, 133,232 – Comirnaty vaccine, 48,851 – AstraZeneka, Janssen – 0, Moderna – 0.

Vaccination was carried out by 1,049 mobile immunization teams, 3,097 vaccination points and 364 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 5,141 persons, 614 patients died, 8,530 persons recovered. There have been conducted 134,329 testings (72,999 using the PCR method,
15,546 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 45,784).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 2,725,385 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 2,361,365 people recovered;
  • 63, 003 people died;
  • 13,854,545 testings have been conducted.
