Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of October 20, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 22,415 (1,771 children out of this number, 345 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15,117,165 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 8,373,552 people have been vaccinated. On October 20, 2021, 251,254 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 79,075 – CoronaVac vaccine, 126,019 – Comirnaty vaccine, 46,160 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 0.

Vaccination was carried out by 1,048 mobile immunization teams, 3,056 vaccination points and 364 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 4,892 persons, 546 patients died, 8,036 persons recovered. There have been conducted 135,912 testings (71,841 using the PCR method, 16,968 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 47,103).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

• 2,701,600 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;

• 2,352,835 people recovered;

• 62,389 people died;

• 13,781,546 testings have been conducted.

The number of people with coronavirus disease in regions:

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
