Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 09, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 1, 969 (94 children out of this number, 41 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 28,820,343 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 14,813,186 people have been vaccinated. On January 09, 2022, 20,376 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 4,174 – CoronaVac vaccine, 14,020 – Comirnaty vaccine, 501 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 1,681.

Vaccination was carried out by 317 mobile immunization teams, 1,838 vaccination points and 381 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,064 persons, 86 patients died, 3,517 persons recovered. There have been conducted 24,283 testings (10,332 using the PCR method, 908 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 13,043).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,704,442 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,514,786 people recovered;
  • 97,325 people died;
  • 16,966,846 testings have been conducted.
