  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 9, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 27,856 COVID-19 cases, 810 patients died, 12,412 people recovered. During the 24 hours, 394 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 431,085 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 44,516 samples using ELISA method.

    In total 2,003 cases among children and 5,135 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 19,614 patients, out of this number 1,677 children and 4,153 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 8,242 people were hospitalized, including 326 children and 982 healthcare workers. There are 304 people, including 1 child and 29 healthcare workers, having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As of June 9, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 1,175 cases (728 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 1,113 cases (299 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 971 cases (629 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 235 cases (121 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region - 935 cases (500 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 1,425 cases (606 recovered);
    • Zaporizhia region – 499 cases (290 recovered);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,602 cases (992 recovered);
    • Kirovohrad region - 562 cases (442 recovered);
    • Kyiv – 3,523 cases (925 recovered);
    • Kyiv region – 1,836 cases (577 recovered);
    • Lviv region – 2,211 cases (531 recovered);
    • Luhansk region - 54 cases (43 recovered);
    • Mykolaiv region - 309 cases (195 recovered);
    • Odesa region - 1010 cases (376 recovered);
    • Poltava region - 274 cases (256 recovered);
    • Rivne region – 2,094 cases (1,093 recovered);
    • Sumy region - 198 cases (158 recovered);
    • Ternopil region – 1,305 cases (987 recovered);
    • Kharkiv region – 1,305 cases (597 recovered);
    • Kherson region – 179 cases (172 recovered);
    • Khmelnytsky region - 518 cases (338 recovered);
    • Chernivtsi region – 3,729 cases (1,150 recovered);
    • Cherkasy region - 490 cases (346 recovered);
    • Chernihiv region - 304 cases (81 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
