  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of on June 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 37,241 COVID-19 cases, 16,642 people recovered, 1,012 patients died. During the 24 hours,681 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 569,589 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 128,716 samples using ELISA method.

    In total 2,735 cases among children and 6,046 cases among healthcare workers were recorded.  10, 234 people were hospitalized. There are 343 people having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines. 27,007 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment.3,657 healthcare workers have recovered.

    In total, COVID-19 cases were registered:

    Vinnytsia region – 1,660 cases (1,014 recovered);

    Volyn region – 1,852 cases (548 recovered);

    Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,042 cases (776 recovered);

    Donetsk region – 362 cases (145 recovered);

    Zhytomyr region – 1,270 cases (633 recovered);

    Zakarpattia region – 2,149 cases (842 recovered);

    Zaporizhia region – 555 cases (391 recovered);

    Ivano-Frankivsk region – 2,056cases (1,071 recovered);

    Kyiv – 4,368 cases (1,391 recovered);

    Kyiv region – 2,208 cases (1100 recovered);

    Kirovohrad region – 627 cases (508 recovered);

    Lviv region – 3,980 cases (674 recovered);

    Luhansk region - 72 cases (53 recovered);

    Mykolaiv region - 366 cases (265 recovered);

    Odesa region – 1,304 cases (551 recovered);

    Poltava region - 293 cases (262 recovered);

    Rivne region – 2,693 cases (1,526 recovered);

    Sumy region - 258 cases (182 recovered);

    Ternopil region – 1,728 cases (1,073 recovered);

    Kharkiv region – 1,811 cases (872 recovered);

    Kherson region – 188 cases (175 recovered);

    Khmelnytsky region - 622 cases (492 recovered);

    Cherkasy region - 603 cases (393 recovered);

    Chernivtsi region – 4,357 cases (1,574 recovered);

    Chernihiv region - 480 cases (131 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.

    The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

    As of morning June 22, 2020, 772 new COVID-19 cases have been identified. In total, starting from the beginning of 2020, 79,847 COVID-19 cases have been registered.

    The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
