Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba presented online map which enables Ukrainian travellers to check the current entry-transit situation in any country of the world.
“This is a map for people. Governments around the world are imposing restrictions on movement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The rules of entry and transit are being updated all the time. How people can understand where it is allowed to travel and where not? Our new map will allow Ukrainian citizens to avoid confusion, ”Dmytro Kuleba said at the briefing.
The Foreign Minister expressed special gratitude to the British Embassy in Ukraine and the UNDP in Ukraine for the assistance provided in creating an online map.
The interactive map incorporates the entry-exit regime in all countries of the world based on operative and verified information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and foreign diplomatic missions. These maps are updated regularly. Three layers of information enable travellers to check whether it is possible to enter or transit the country, and under what conditions.
"I must honestly admit that this map makes life easier for me as the Minister for Foreign Affairs. I am often asked in interviews and private conversations where Ukrainians can go abroad. Now I have an answer to this question at fingertips.
Every citizen now has access to up-to-date information related to travelling and travel restrictions in other countries at any time of the day, just on the screen of computer or smartphone. This is our digital response to the challenges of the coronavirus crisis, ” Dmytro Kuleba underscored.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs stressed that even after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the online map will remain a convenient tool for citizens when planning trips abroad.
