  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 34,063 COVID-19 cases, 966 patients died, 15,447 people recovered. During the 24 hours, 829 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 530,442 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 107,313 samples using ELISA method.

    In total 2,506 cases among children and 5,716 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 24,478 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 9,585 people were hospitalized. There are 338 people having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As of June 18, coronavirus disease was registered:

    Vinnytsia region – 1,563 cases (954 recovered);

    Volyn region – 1,610 cases (526 recovered);

    Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,021 cases (739 recovered);

    Donetsk region - 349 cases (140 recovered);

    Zhytomyr region – 1,154 cases (583 recovered);

    Zakarpattia region – 1,882 cases (772 recovered);

    Zaporizhia region – 541 cases (375 recovered);

    Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,893 cases (1,059 recovered);

    Kirovohrad region - 604 cases (497 recovered);

    Kyiv – 4,084 cases (1,286 recovered);

    Kyiv region – 2,119 cases (941 recovered);

    Lviv region – 3,398 cases (661 recovered);

    Luhansk region - 68 cases (42 recovered);

    Mykolaiv region - 323 cases (219 recovered);

    Odesa region – 1,188 cases (481 recovered);

    Poltava region - 287 cases (260 recovered);

    Rivne region – 2,572 cases (1,379 recovered);

    Sumy region - 236 cases (169 recovered);

    Ternopil region – 1,542 cases (1,036 recovered);

    Kharkiv region – 1,707 cases (786 recovered);

    Kherson region – 184 cases (174 recovered);

    Khmelnytsky region - 587 cases (460 recovered);

    Chernivtsi region – 4,135 cases (1,415 recovered);

    Cherkasy region - 568 cases (374 recovered);

    Chernihiv region - 448 cases (112 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
