The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will work guided by the Action Program, despite the fact that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has not supported this document.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, commenting on the results of the vote in the Verkhovna Rada.

The PM thanked to all MPs "who have today backed the Government's Action Program with 207 votes." "This is a truly comprehensive document that we have developed together with the Parliament, it is structured, it meets today's needs of Ukraine. This is a document that the Government will work on, regardless of whether it is approved or not," said Denys Shmyhal.

Moreover, the Prime Minister stressed that the text of the Government's Action Program actually received the support of parliamentarians in committees. "But the deputies were afraid that during the coronavirus-inflicted crisis they would suddenly have to replace a minister quickly, and this would be impossible. We were frank and open while discussing the above issues, it is no secret, and this is the main stumbling block that did not allow us to gather the necessary amount of votes to support the Program. The content raises no questions, it is a political decision," Denys Shmyhal explained.

Apart from that, the Prime Minister stressed there are no grounds for dismissal of the Government, during the next year the Government must be guided in activities with the prepared document.

"We will continue our work. Nothing terrible happened here. There are no changes at all for the Government. We did not chase after immunity, we do not need it, we need an understanding that we in synergy with the Parliament can implement Program measures for the benefit of Ukraine and Ukrainians. This is the main thing, I put an exclamation mark on it. We prolong our work," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
