According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on May 5, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 12,697 COVID-19 cases, 316 patients died, 1,875 patients recovered. In total 881 cases in children and 2,479 in healthcare workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 366 new cases have been confirmed.

Vinnytsia region - 454 cases;
Volyn region - 343 cases;
Dnipropetrovsk region - 478 cases;
Donetsk region - 83 cases;
Zhytomyr region - 448 cases;
Zakarpattia region - 546 cases;
Zaporizhia region - 287 cases;
Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,015 cases;
Kirovograd region - 401 cases;
Kyiv – 1,583 cases;
Kyiv region - 866 cases;
Lviv region - 514 cases;
Luhansk region - 38 cases;
Mykolaiv region - 163 cases;
Odesa region - 469 cases;
Poltava region - 231 cases;
Rivne region - 779 cases;
Sumy region - 112 cases;
Ternopil region - 923 cases;
Kharkiv region - 377 cases;
Kherson region – 142 cases;
Khmelnytsky region - 119 cases;
Chernivtsi region – 1,948 cases;
Cherkasy region - 314 cases;
Chernihiv region - 64 cases.
Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
8,935 patients, out of this number 724 children and 2,061 medical personnel have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 3,762 people were hospitalized, including 157 children and 418 healthcare workers. There are 167 people including 1 child and 14 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.
As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 316 people died with 18 healthcare workers out of this number. 86% of deaths occurs in the 50 and above age group.
The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 5, 2020, the Center received 1,041 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 33,311 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.
