According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on May 4, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 12,331 COVID-19 cases, 303 patients died, 1,619 patients recovered. In total 855 cases in children and 2,387 in healthcare workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 418 new cases have been confirmed.

Volyn region - 340 cases;
Dnipropetrovsk region - 460 cases;
Donetsk region - 81 cases;
Zhytomyr region - 430 cases;
Zakarpattia region - 531 cases;
Zaporizhia region - 285 cases;
Ivano-Frankivsk region - 984 cases;
Kirovograd region - 401 cases;
Kyiv – 1,535 cases;
Kyiv region - 853 cases;
Lviv region - 506 cases;
Luhansk region - 37 cases;
Mykolaiv region - 161 cases;
Odesa region - 427 cases;
Poltava region - 227 cases;
Rivne region - 750 cases;
Sumy region - 112 cases;
Ternopil region - 896 cases;
Kharkiv region - 361 cases;
Kherson region – 139 cases;
Khmelnytsky region - 116 cases;
Chernivtsi region – 1,887 cases;
Cherkasy region - 312 cases;
Chernihiv region - 64 cases.
Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
8,669 patients, out of this number 703 children and 1,975 medical personnel have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 3,662 people were hospitalized, including 152 children and 412 healthcare workers. There are 160 people including 1 child and 14 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.
As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 303 people died with 18 healthcare workers out of this number. 86% of deaths occur in the 50 and above age group.
The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 4, 2020, the Center received 546 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 32,270 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.
