  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 4, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 25,411 COVID-19 cases, 747 patients died, 11,042 people recovered. During the 24 hours, 588 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 392,316 samples in Ukraine were tested using the PCR method and 29,533 samples using the ELISA method.

    In total 1,829 cases among children and 4,888 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 17,674 patients, out of this number 1,532 children and 3,965 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 7,737 people were hospitalized, including 297 children and 923 healthcare workers. There are 297 people, including 1 child and 28 healthcare workers, having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As of June 4, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 1,077 cases (677 recovered);
    • Volyn region - 986 cases (294 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 957 cases (349 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 174 cases (109 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region - 833 cases (474 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 1,257 cases (524 recovered);
    • Zaporizhia region – 469 cases (269 recovered);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,491 cases (887 recovered);
    • Kirovohrad region - 526 cases (409 recovered);
    • Kyiv – 3,210 cases (849 recovered);
    • Kyiv region – 1,673 cases (472 recovered);
    • Lviv region – 1,915 cases (490 recovered);
    • Luhansk region - 51 cases (41 recovered);
    • Mykolaiv region - 295 cases (182 recovered);
    • Odesa region - 933 cases (290 recovered);
    • Poltava region - 272 cases (253 recovered);
    • Rivne region – 1,905 cases (1,019 recovered);
    • Sumy region - 177 cases (147 recovered);
    • Ternopil region – 1,220 cases (958 recovered);
    • Kharkiv region – 1,166 cases (471 recovered);
    • Kherson region – 179 cases (161 recovered);
    • Khmelnytsky region - 497 cases (276 recovered);
    • Chernivtsi region – 3,481 cases (1,051 recovered);
    • Cherkasy region - 429 cases (327 recovered);
    • Chernihiv region - 238 cases (63 recovered).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
