Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on June 1, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 24,012 COVID-19 cases, 718 patients died, 9,690 patients recovered. During the 24 hours, 340 new cases have been confirmed. A total of 363,187 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 10,944 samples using ELISA method.

In total 1,725 cases among children and 4,621 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 16,650 patients, out of this number 1,443 children and 3,757 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 7,362 people were hospitalized, including 282 children and 864 healthcare workers. There are 283 people, including 1 child and 26 healthcare workers, having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

As of June 1, coronavirus disease was registered:

Vinnytsia region – 1,005 cases (587 recovered);

Volyn region - 932 cases (259 recovered);

Dnipropetrovsk region - 942 cases (265 recovered);

Donetsk region - 163 cases (89 recovered);

Zhytomyr region - 742 cases (416 recovered);

Zakarpattia region – 1,206 cases (405 recovered);

Zaporizhia region - 447 cases (252 recovered);

Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,420 cases (818 recovered);

Kirovohrad region - 514 cases (400 recovered);

Kyiv – 3,043 cases (654 recovered);

Kyiv region – 1,600 cases (398 recovered);

Lviv region – 1,700 cases (420 recovered);

Luhansk region - 47 cases (40 recovered);

Mykolaiv region - 294 cases (154 recovered);

Odesa region - 896 cases (225 recovered);

Poltava region - 270 cases (249 recovered);

Rivne region – 1,770 cases (887 recovered);

Sumy region - 170 cases (141 recovered);

Ternopil region – 1,176 cases (912 recovered);

Kharkiv region – 1,083 cases (408 recovered);

Kherson region – 178 cases (161 recovered);

Khmelnytsky region - 454 cases (234 recovered);

Chernivtsi region – 3,377 cases (945 recovered);

Cherkasy region - 406 cases (308 recovered);

Chernihiv region - 177 cases (63 recovered).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of morning of June 1, 2020, the Center received 496 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 59,339 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.
