
Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection
According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 8, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 19,676 (751 children out of this number, 552 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 392, 189.
Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 353,147 people have been vaccinated.
On April 8, 2021, 18,569 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination was conducted by 145 mobile immunization teams and 848 vaccination points.
During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 4,936 persons, 419 patients died, 11,221 persons recovered. There have been conducted 119,369 testings (53,373 using the PCR method, 21,071 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 44,925).
During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:
- 1,823,674 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
- 1,395,104 people recovered;
- 36,381 people died;
- 8,568,004 testings have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
