Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 08, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 2,141 (130 children out of this number, 71 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 147,603.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1020 persons, 47 patients died, 2697 persons recovered. There have been conducted 13662 testing (10401 using the PCR method and 3261 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1246990 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1075743 people recovered;
  • 23644 people died;
  • 6402123 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
