  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 17, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 12,047 (594 children out of this number, 535 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 367,399.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,997 persons, 252 patients died, 12,939 persons recovered. There have been conducted 65,561testing (41,733 using the PCR method and 23,828 using the ELISA method).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 931,751 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 548,356 people recovered;
    • 15,996 people died;
    • 5,167,122 testing have been conducted.

    The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,512), Odesa region (1,064), Zaporizhia region (858), Kyiv region (626), Chernihiv region (587).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. 

    The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
