Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of March 1, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,285 (258 children out of this number, 93 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 154, 360.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1779 persons, 68 patients died, 1701 persons recovered. There have been conducted 23066 testing (15394 using the PCR method, 2621 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 5051).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1352134 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1171724 people recovered;
  • 26050 people died;
  • 6921573 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
