Despite the introduction of anti-epidemic measures due to the spread of COVID-19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ensured the adoption of 64 regulations in the defense sector. In total, in 2020, 137 military acts were adopted, including 3 laws of Ukraine, 70 acts of the President of Ukraine, as well as 506 orders of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The adoption of some regulations in 2020 was aimed at fulfilling the following tasks:
Provision and social protection of servicemen:
- in order to organize the nutrition of servicemen under quarantine restrictions, the Law of Ukraine of March 30, 2020, № 548-IX "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020" on continuous nutrition of servicemen", the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 20 March 2020, № 237 "On Amendments to the nutrition standards of servicemen of the Armed Forces and other military formations", Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 21, 2020, № 1042 "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 28, 2016, № 1026";
- clarified the provisions on medical care, treatment and medical rehabilitation of wounded servicemen of all components of the security and defense sector of Ukraine on the basis of military medical institutions of the defense forces in a special period with the adoption of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from September 30, 2020, № 903;
- established a reward for creating safe conditions for combat missions and saving lives and health of servicemen, privates and officers and police officers involved in measures to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, by adopting a Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 29, 2020, № 741.
