  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 8, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 19,419 (766 children out of this number, 480 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 384, 153.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 334,578 people have been vaccinated, of whom 334,576 have received 1 dose, and 2 persons have completed vaccination (received 2 doses).

    On April 7, 2021, 14,313 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination was conducted by 134 mobile immunization teams and 692 vaccination points.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 5,092 persons, 464 patients died, 10,032 persons recovered. There have been conducted 128,440 testings (57,996 using the PCR method, 23,647 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 46,797).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1,803,998 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,383,883 people recovered;
    • 35,962 people died;
    • 8,514,631 testing have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
