The Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko told in an interview with the Correspondent magazine about the tools of support for the national producer that are currently applied by the Ministry.
"We have to protect our people. And not only a truly Ukrainian manufacturer but anyone who is ready to produce in Ukraine. He/she will receive the same preferences as the national producer, as it will be Ukrainian for the state. The criterion of localization, in my opinion, is rather simple: the share of production in Ukraine is over 35%," the Minister commented.
In particular, it concerned working with public procurement to increase the share of national producers in orders from state-owned companies.
"We have now completed work with Prozorro on non-price "criteria" and "life cycle" modules, which will help to place orders with the Ukrainian manufacturer," said Ihor Petrashko.
Increased support for national producers and exporters will also be provided through the work of the Export Credit Agency (ECA), which has been recapitalized to UAH 2 billion. In the active phase - the process of preparation for the signing of "Industrial Visa-Free Regime", thereby facilitating Ukrainian companies' access to EU markets.
In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture pursues a fairly strict anti-dumping policy. At present, according to the results of preliminary investigations, Ukraine applies 28 trade protection measures (including 25 anti-dumping and 3 special measures) with the value of imports before the application of measures worth over UAH 16.7 billion.
