  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 7, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 78,261 COVID-19 cases, 43,055 people recovered, 1,852 patients died. During the 24 hours, 1,453 new cases have been confirmed.

    A total of 1 135 051 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method. During the 24 hours, 531 people have recovered.

    As of August 7, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 2, 932 cases;
    • Volyn region – 4,162 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,508 cases;
    • Donetsk region - 945 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region – 2,064 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region – 5,615 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region – 895 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 5,426 cases;
    • Kirovohrad region - 714 cases;
    • Kyiv – 9,178 cases;
    • Kyiv region – 4,058 cases;
    • Lviv region – 10,572 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 146 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 682 cases;
    • Odesa region – 3,904 cases;
    • Poltava region - 489 cases;
    • Rivne region – 6,638 cases;
    • Sumy region – 636;
    • Ternopil region – 3,212;
    • Kharkiv region – 4,527;
    • Kherson region – 255;
    • Khmelnytsky region – 1,286;
    • Chernivtsi region – 6,477;
    • Cherkasy region – 975;
    • Chernihiv region – 965.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
