Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 26, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 2,779 (95 children out of this number, 175 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 209,215.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 891 persons, 133 patients died, 12,538 persons recovered. There have been conducted 32,030 testing (16,589 using the PCR method and 15,441 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,197,107 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 965,835 people recovered;
  • 22,057 people died;
  • 6,125,257 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
