Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 24, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,850 (316 children out of this number, 271 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 136, 811.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3049 persons, 152 patients died, 3645 persons recovered. There have been conducted 79538 testing (34351 using the PCR method, 15548 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 29639).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1317694 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1155422 people recovered;
  • 25461 people died;
  • 6772495 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
