Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 3,206 (216 children out of this number, 78 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 135,080.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1443 persons, 53 patients died, 1353 persons recovered. There have been conducted 20183 testing (13513 using the PCR method, 2465 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 - 4205).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1307662 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 1147426 people recovered;
  • 25156 people died;
  • 6714484 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
