Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 5,348 (164 children out of this number, 225 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 232,338.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,900 persons, 163 patients died, 14,239 persons recovered. There have been conducted 43,593 testing (23,410 using the PCR method and 20,183 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 1,182,969 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 928,969 people recovered;
  • 21,662 people died;
  • 6,057,828 testing have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
