  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of July 14, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 54,771 COVID-19 cases, 27,154 people recovered, 1,412 patients died. During the 24 hours, 638 new cases have been confirmed.

    The number of registered active cases as of July 14 is 26,205 people. The largest number of active patients per 100,000 population was registered in Lviv (235.9), Chernivtsi (235.1) and Zakarpattia (208.5) regions.

    Now 3,968 people are undergoing inpatient treatment. There are 104 people out of this number having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines. A total of 14,434 people needed hospitalization, 441 patients needed to undergo mechanical ventilation treatment.

    In total 3,906 cases among children and 7,499 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 40,337 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment.

    A total of 813,396 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 370,053 using ELISA method. During 24 hours, 9,711 samples were tested using PCR method.

    As of July 14, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 2,148 cases (1562 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 3,080 (1681 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,146 cases (1,045 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 765 cases (252 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region – 1,542 cases (1,157 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 4,055 cases (1,031);
    • Zaporizhia region – 622 cases (521);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 3,127 cases (1,246);
    • Kirovohrad region - 674 cases (587);
    • Kyiv – 6,350 cases (2,124);
    • Kyiv region – 3,090 cases (1,925);
    • Lviv region – 7,254 cases (1,142);
    • Luhansk region - 95 cases (73);
    • Mykolaiv region - 487 cases (385);
    • Odesa region – 2,258 cases (1,030);
    • Poltava region - 334 cases (299);
    • Rivne region – 4,740 cases (2,905);
    • Sumy region – 341 (297);
    • Ternopil region – 2,276 (1,431);
    • Kharkiv region – 2,723 (1,477);
    • Kherson region – 204 (186);
    • Khmelnytsky region – 909 (770);
    • Chernivtsi region – 5,184 (2,864);
    • Cherkasy region – 755 (602);
    • Chernihiv region – 612 (292).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
